Hand Washing Lesson!
Today we talked about the importance of washing hands and helping to stop the spread of germs! With the help of The Windsor Essex Health Unit we were able to practice safe handwashing with the help of a black light and special hand washing "Glitter Bug Potion".

We applied the Glitter Bug Potion, it goes on white, and dries clear. When we put the black light on our hands you can see the potion "glowing".

Here you can see the potion "glowing" under the black light. Teagan was our model!

After washing the "glowing" lotion was gone! Most student's (and myself) had to wash hands 2 times to remove all of the lotion.

The Glitter Bug Potion and the black light were provided by the Health Unit.

The Mitten!
We read the story, The Mitten this week at school. It is about little boy who lost a mitten that his Baba had knitted for him in the snow. It was a white mitten. Several animals came along and snuggled into the mitten. We discussed the term camouflage!

We wanted to find out if people in our class wore mittens like the boy in the story or gloves. We created a class graph. We discovered that 13 people wore mittens and 10 people wore gloves.
Some friends created some of the animals from the story!
