Pete the Cat... I Love My New Shoes!

Pete the Cat must have been in our room and stepped in some things to make his shoe prints on the paper.   Ema says he stepped in purple icing and Abbey said Pete stepped in some oranges because she made orange.  I mixed red and yellow together and now I have orange she says!  Some children are retelling the story at the listening centre.

Clapping syllables!

The children are selecting a picture and clapping how many sounds are in the word?  Eg.  Kadence clapped 2 sounds for table and said that's 2.  She clapped 1time for bee. We have been practising this skill with our names too.  At home practise clapping out names and objects!

Sorting by Colours!

The children are using their fine motor skills to sort the different colours of Pom poms! 

Terry Fox Run

Today at Amherstburg Public School we held our Terry Fox Run/Walk.  The children enjoyed a warm-up led by Mrs. Shepley, then they walked/ran 5 km!  Our school raised $1000 for cancer research.

Light Table

Today we added new transparent shapes to our light table. The children had fun making designs on the table.

Different Shades of Colour!

We are looking at all of the different shades of colour and matching them to the colour it goes best with!  Megan did a great job finding all the different shades of yellow!  She noticed that some some looked a little green but they were yellow she said!  Abbey was finding all the different shades of pink.  Abbey noticed that some of the pink look a little purple too!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!

Today we read the story Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!  The children had a chance to retell the story during activity time!
