Welcome Back!!

Here is what we are doing in the classroom!!  Keep practising at home!!!

Looking at money.  Naming all of the coins.  We are trying to figure out different ways to buy things in the classroom.  This rock is 8 cents.  The children found 2 ways we could buy this rock!!

Reading environmental print.  Thank you to everyone who sent in labels.  These 2 students are trying to figure out what this word says.  They know that they have been to this store. 

Coins!!!

We have been looking at money this week and the children are becoming very familiar with the names of the coins.  Here we have a centre where the children sorted and looked for the value of the coins. 

The children are creating a new centre in our classroom.  We thought it would be fun to have a grocery store in the classroom.  We have been reading flyers from local grocery stores and we made our own classroom flyer. 

The Last Two Weeks!!

We had to say goodbye to our 2 student teachers.  These are some of the things that we have been doing.

We tapped our rhythm sticks with the beat of the music!!!

We read the story The Three Little Pigs and we created the props and retold the story at the block centre!!

We discussed the importance of healthy food.  We loved our Pasta Day!!!  We sorted healthy and unhealthy food.  We retold the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar at the water table!

We searched for seeds!!

We created patterns, measured and made graphs!!

We played with worms in the grass and in the dirt!!
