Fingerprint!

We made our own fingerprint and the children loved touching it!  If you would like to make it at home, here are the directions.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup flour
1 cup water
Pinch of salt
Extra cold water
Food colouring

Directions:
1. Pour flour and water into a pot.
2. Stir over medium heat until a smooth, thick paste forms.  It may be a bit lumpy.
3.  When it starts to pull away from pot remove from heat.
4. Add pinch of salt.
5. Slowly add cold water until desired consistency. ( About 1/4 cup)
6. Divide paint into 2 bowls.
7. Add food colouring to each bowl.
8. Store in fridge.

Thinking About Our Earth!

Meet Freddie the Fish!  He was swimming in nice clean water.  But then we learned about how oil, salt, rust, garbage and chemicals were leaked into the water from factories, cars, humans and the environment.  This made the water very dirty!!

Here is a nice clean river!

This is what happened!!
